Subtle Changes That Can Enhance Your Health

My life is usually busy from the time I wake up until I am getting ready to go to bed.  I really have to prioritize my time to ensure I am not eating fast food because I don’t have a meal packed or not able to attend a yoga class because I left my workout clothes at home.  Along the way of trying to find time saving ways to be healthy I have found some great subtle changes which can help make the process easier for anyone.

Let’s start off with the beginning of the day when your alarm clock goes off.  Don’t hit snooze!  I used to be a chronic snoozer, dreading getting out of bed, but what I didn’t know was hitting the snooze button and allowing myself to fall back to sleep I was wasting energy by shocking my system every time the alarm would go off.  Another great trick for your alarm is finding something that ascends in volume, it will allow the body and mind to wake up a little more gently.  Once I am up and out of bed instead of reaching for the coffee pot I drink warm lemon water.  Warm lemon water helps to flush out toxins in the body and prepare the stomach for digestion.  It also give you a nice natural energy boost.  

Prepacking your meals and snacks can help to ensure you are eating healthier options as well as saving some money.  I always keep some mixed nuts or trail mix in my car with a few extra bottles of water.  The night before I head to bed I make sure my lunch is ready for the next day as well as pre prep by smoothie ingredients so I can mix it before I leave the house which saves time and I do not have to clean up after.  Since I have been taking food with me I have saved more money as well as eat less fast food and have more healthier options with me.
